Yearly snows avalanching off structures in Colorado highlight the need for snow retention systems on buildings.

Two major accidents in Colorado in March of 2023 and 2024 illustrate the importance of including snow guards, bars or fences on homes and commercial properties in areas where snowfall can be quite intense.

Most structures built in snow country have been engineered to support the snow loads expected for the area.  Some, especially buildings built many years ago, may not have been built to today's standards.
