The custom copper roof and snow guard system installed by Umbrella Roofing on a Vail, Colorado home shines so brightly that it was named the Runner Up Winner in the Most Impressive Snow Guard Project category in our "Show Us Our Snow Guards" Contest.

"This was an incredibly complex roof system to put together," says Josh Yandle, co-owner of Umbrella Roofing out of Eagle, Colorado. "With the roof angles and height, we knew a solid snow retention system would need to be included. Not just an efficient one, but an elegant one that would complement the look of the copper roof.

"We chose the 10" Rocky Guard (RG10) snow guards in copper from Rocky Mountain Snow Guards for the majority of the home used in conjunction with a copper Drift III snow fence. Then, for the turret, we installed the SnowCap II clamp-to-seam fence in copper. Together the snow retention system works beautifully to accent the roof while providing much-need protection for the homeowners during heavy winter snowfalls."
